i'm glad you posted on this brooke - wtf's going on in france? in a 2007 post at dhimmi watch it is apparent that christianity has NO toehold in france - well unless it's to glorify islam!
Proves and confirms her point, indeed! Sheesh! How dim can the courts be??? This poor woman is just trying to cling to her homeland and salvage what is left....this MUST be the most bitter pill for her to swallow.
The ACLU can't fight what's in France, and as many of you know, i'm very pro-free speech, so this is appalling to me. But, the French have their legal traditions, and we have ours. In Europe in general, free speech is not as "free" as it is in the US, and it's a pity, imho, but I don't know if anything can be done. This is a deeply rooted tradition that is prevalent throughout Europe, the EU and the European Court of Human Rights, and pretty much the rest of the world too. The US has the freeest speech possible, and we should all be really grateful for that.
Also, this is like her 6th conviction for this kind of thing. But she can afford it.
Folks, looks like we are in for tough times vis a vis free speech.
McCain-Feingold already shows how McCain wants to limit the First Amendment. And does anyone doubt that Obama would push through tough hate crime legislation?

Linked this one and the Tammy Bruce post in my round up.
This has to be fought tooth & nail.
Hey Dora, lets's see the ACLU fix this one!
I'm sure that they won't even bother to comment about the dangerous trend this sets, even though this happened in France.
Convenient myopathy.
That, and it doesn't involve NAMBLA or anything.

Umm, Dora? I was being a smart ass.
the freedom of speech is universal no matter how perverse or holy.
o great ...lets all bow and grab our burrrrrrrrkas now Brooke..NOT!!
Looks like it will soon be time to roll the Enola Gay out of the Smithsonian soon and kick the tires and light the fires!!!
I'm not surprised at Bardot's conviction. Eurabia has arrived in all but name.
Shirley Bassey (of James Bond theme song fame) has essentially said the same things Bardot has said. I agree with both of them.
I stole your gun permit photo from your sidebar. Hope you don't mind. :)
Steal away! I did, too...
Ah...Europe. What a great place.
yup, there's no freedom of speech in Europe - or Canada - as we know it here in the U.S.
Amazingly (or not?), most people are completely ignorant of this.

Hi, RedHunter, thanks for stopping by!
This sort of thing is exactly what will happen if the "hate crime" legislation over here becomes more prominent.
It ain't looking good, folks.
I heard this also and it masde me think about the ACLU right here in the good old US of A.
Things are kind of upside down aren't they?
Freedom of speech isn't an absolute here, either. What you can say depends on what the judge decides to let you say.
"Brigitte Bardot was convicted in a French court of "provoking discrimination and racial hatred" for speaking out against Islamists" (Brooke)
against Muslims, claiming they were ruling the country and destroying its culture.
"I'm not surprised at Bardot's conviction. Eurabia has arrived in all but name." (Always On Watch)
There is no such thing as Eurabia except in the mind of conspiracy theorists and Europeans-haters.
And Islamists and their dhimmis...
"And Islamists" (Brooke)
Which islamists?
Here comes the circular leftist argument: I name a general population, and I am being vague and xenophobic.
I name a particular Islamist, and I am cherry-picking one extreme example of an entire population.
Sheesh.
